On day 1, after arriving at the BIA airport, our first destination is Dambulla. In Dambulla, we will visit the iconic Sigiriya rock fortress, an ancient palace complex built on top of a towering rock. Then, we will explore the Dambulla Cave Temple, which houses over 150 Buddha statues and ancient murals. We will then stay overnight in Sigiriya, a beautiful town known for its breathtaking views and serene atmosphere.
On day 2, we will visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a sanctuary that cares for orphaned and injured elephants. We will then head to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Here, we will visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, also known as Kandy Dalada Maligawa, where a tooth of Buddha is enshrined. In the evening, we will enjoy the Famous Kandyayan Dance, a traditional dance performance that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. We will stay overnight in Kandy.
On day 3, we will drive to Nuwaraeliya, also known as “Little England,” a charming hill town with a cool climate and beautiful landscapes. Here, we will visit a tea factory and learn about the tea-making process. We will then take a scenic train ride from Nuwaraeliya to Ella, a picturesque town famous for its waterfalls and hiking trails. We will spend the night in Ella.
On day 4, we will explore Yala National Park, home to a variety of wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and birds. After the safari, we will head to the south coast and spend some time relaxing by the beach. Finally, we will head back to Hikkaduwa, where the tour concludes.
